Spiritual Guidance Online

There is currently a system in place that is centered around the nuclear family, the good job, the nice house, nice car, latest fashions, latest technologies, consumer credit/debit system and political systems designed to sway the voter into believing he is making a difference with his vote.

Most of our personal and spiritual growth programs are still working within this system.  Even the movie “The Secret” which has gained mass attention, including being represented on Oprah, is primarily focused on material accomplishment.

There is a belief that if we just have more money, we can buy our position in life.  If we subscribe to the beliefs that our thoughts create our reality we can think our way to riches.

We can also think ourselves healthy and happy.  We can think our way into a great relationship and a good job.  We can think our way to anything we want to create in our life.

Most of our thoughts are still geared towards finding our place in the American Dream.  The American Dream is an illusion!  It is a dream, not based on waking reality!  It is the illusion we are being fed so we can continue to be slaves to a crumbling society.

The American Dream is still based on consumerism and the depletion of resources.  It doesn’t encourage the building of eco communities, a more wholesome lifestyle, clean air, clean water, spiritual actualization, artistic expression and living in harmony with our environment and each other.

The American Dream is still built around the Nuclear family which seems to have lost its ability to sustain itself.  Divorce is now the rule rather than the exception.  Single parent families are more common than not. 

Our elderly and our children are put in institutions and the responsibility to our fellow being has dwindled to a mere shadow of what it once was.  Where we used to at least have an extended family unit, now we exist in a world where each man for himself is the rule.

We only need go into our neighborhoods to see that the houses are now being built closer and closer together but the relationship between neighbors is getting further and further apart as we hole up and isolate in our little cracker boxes we call homes.

Is it an accident that we have arrived at this place?  I don’t think so.  I believe we are being programmed by a system that is conditioning us to live in separation rather than harmony. 

When we look at the concept of “our thoughts create our reality” we need to look at the over all reality of humanity!  What do we as a species hope to accomplish?  World peace?  What does world peace mean if we don’t know our neighbors?

If our individual energies are being focused soley for the intention of personal accomplishment I believe we have failed ourselves.  How is our having a nicer home and a better car going to serve humanity in the long run?

I have to wonder what would happen if every waking individual found a way to join forces in creating one functional system that would serve all who support it with their energy?  As long as we are all running around with our individual missions we remain separate.  As long as we continue to live in our own little cracker boxes we will never return to the Garden of Eden.
